Synopsis

Elizabeth lost her parents in a sudden accident. Due to imperial law, an unmarried woman cannot fully inherit a noble title and wealth. To outsmart the system, she exploits the one-year inheritance suspension period, inheriting a fortune worth 30 years of the empire’s budget—then vanishes. The family elders plan to marry her off to her uncle to prevent her inheritance from leaving the family. Refusing to wed the man who might have caused her parents' deaths, Elizabeth devises a scheme: She announces a fake engagement with her maid, escapes beyond her family's reach, and spends every last penny to ensure her financial ruin.
